Here is a list of some of the workshops we currently offer: An introduction into Nasubukang Arnis –We look at the base skills of fighting another with a single stick. We include: Footwork and Guard, Foundational Striking and Defence, Amarra (Stick patterns/combinations), all of this through the cornerstones of Form, Focus and Function. *There are more seminars available once the introduction session has been completed. BareBones Boxing – Using Boxing as your main physical tool. We explore the concepts and principles behind BareBones to improve your understanding and physical ability to use a fist in a self-defence situation. BareBones Mind & Body – Learn a ‘Do it’ combative mindset, a better way to learn skills as well as a different approach on how to use your body using the principles, concepts and theories that drive BareBones. Blade Awareness & Options – How to survive a bladed attack. We look at how to spot and stop a draw, static hold ups, dynamic knife as well as a bit of common sense first aid and the basics of knife drawing. Blunt Impact Combatives – How to use blunt weapons. This covers stick as well as improvised weapons. Dancing with Intent – Learning to use the legs as combative tools. ECQC Extreme Close Quarter Combat – Looking at close range wrestling, striking and Shredding. Ground Fighting – How to move on the ground, how to get up, escapes from common positions as well as striking from the ground High 5 Power Generation– Learning to use an open hand to deliver maximum power. This covers: Palms, slaps and axe hands. Manhandling 101 – How to move a body around, a living one in fact : ) We look into balance, pushing, pulling and twisting (the basics of pushing hands) to control and throw someone. This also has a small introduction into Shredding effectively. Natural Instinct Self Defence – What to do when you don’t really want to fight. Using I.D.E.A (Interact/Defend/Energy/Act) to give you a plan, plus some skills. Power Punching – We learn to punch HARD. This is an exploration into how your body and mind operate to produce power through a closed hand. Sharpening Your Combative Tools – Working on your tools and making them more efficient & effective. Shredding - We look at the concept of Shredding using the principles behind BareBones Combatives as well as exploring the work Richard Dimitri has already done on it, using his 5 principles of physical retaliation. The Big 5 – A ‘less is more’ approach to your combatives tool box. The Game Plan – Looking at the options available to you before, during and after it all kicks off and formulating your own Game Plan. Understanding Cylinder Theory, The Path to Power and Speed – Understanding how to use your body more efficiently. WWII Combatives – A look into the tools that were used by the British & US. (It’s really only for those interested in the history of it all but it is mainly physical) WTF! What to do when Plan A fails – What happens if your game plan fails or you’re attacked by surprise? This seminar goes through what can go wrong, how to stop it as well as what to do if it does go south! |
