Raw was created to offer everyone a means of improving their confidence, fitness, safety and general well being while having fun and enjoying the company of people that genuinely care about each other, who constantly strive to become better people rather than just better martial artists.
We combine proven psychological and physiological principles to form a simple but effective method of self protection and fitness, where everything practised has a purpose in the real world. We realise that the majority of us will never be involved in a life and death encounter, so our training concentrates on the probable rather than the possible. Our training will not only help you avoid/survive life and death encounters, but it will also help you in your day to day life.
We believe it is better to be confident rather than act confident. Real confidence is earned through being honest with yourself and training hard. Once the process starts, confidence spreads into all facets of your life leading to a happier, safer and more fulfilling lifestyle.
Confidence is often all that is required to avoid dangerous situations in the first place. When you are confident, you are much less likely to be chosen as a soft target or a victim. If you are targeted, the confidence in yourself and your abilities should enable you to walk/run away, talk your way out off or if all else fails go physical and survive the confrontation.
Jim has a very unique way of teaching that is part martial arts/combatives, part self development and part self discovery. I highly recommend his seminars and classes, he has made me think a lot about many things I have done over the years in martial arts in a very deep and detailed way
