This class is about having fun while sweating and acquiring new skills. From shadow boxing to bag work, from technique work to hitting the pads, and from body weight to mobility exercises. This class is taught in a fun environment where safety and enjoyment are our top priorities. We want to help you have a great workout where the mental benefits are as good as the physical benefits.
Jim and Jezz are awesome guys - so keen on keeping the whole person fit and healthy - physically and mentally. Work at your own pace but go hard if you want - each session is different and challenging but full of fun with lots of energy from the trainers.

Our main focus in these classes is to make them more confident, thoughtful and kind people. Yes, we teach them great self defence skills as well as improving their fitness but it's the mental and emotional side of things that matter most to us. It's great to be physically fit and strong but it's more important to be mentally and emotionally fit and healthy. We have no wish to turn them into fighting machines, we help to turn them into young confident people that are physically, emotionally and mentally healthy . We always have fun in the classes and I think we love it more than the teens : )
My son recently started the teens class and walks away from each session pumped up and positive!! 👍 These guys are Legends!

Combatives is a "can do" attitude with the physical skills to match. In this class we use the BareBones structure as our base and then add several physical tools with the relevant mindset and conflict psychology. This will give you the edge in any possible conflict, whether mental, verbal or physical. This class is all about developing the three building blocks of combatives; Mind, Body and skills. Your mind is your greatest weapon which is why we spend a lot of time on your own personal thought process. True strength comes from inside of you and that all starts with what you think about yourself and those around you. Don't just come to get great self protection skills come to make yourself a happier more confident person that's there to help others.
It’s hard to explain the amazing insights that Jim will give you into improving body mechanics within a very short time. You really have to feel and do it yourself to understand. Definitely one of the best martial teachers I have ever met!

In this class we teach Doug Tucker's system of stick fighting. Jim has been training in the FMA since the late 80's but since training with Doug, from 2008, now only teaches Nasubukang Arnis as he feels it is a superior form of stick fighting. Form, Focus and Function are the building blocks of Nasubukang Arnis. It is less of a style/system and more of a way of teaching and learning. Nasubukang compliments everything we do as it uses the same universal principles we teach in everything else we do. After all the truth is the truth.
There is no BS and questions and doubts about what works and what doesn't are actively encouraged and then tried out. That's literally what Nasubukang means: "tested". I also have never met any martial arts instructors that are as competent as Doug and Jim yet are as humble and without ego as they are.

Jim is one of the best trainers I know. If you are looking for someone who can work with you on your personal goals, both mind and body, while making every session a good mix of learning and fun then Jim’s your man. As someone who has been recovering from surgery he has adapted our sessions so that both myself and my partner are able to train together without compromising either of our goals. Raw are the best in the business!!!
